1 New dimension of visualization: Full integration of visual data and 3D models

In modern construction and surveying project management, advanced data visualization plays a strategic role. Direct access to rich visual context, embedded directly on precise terrain models, is becoming a key enabler for making accurate operational decisions, minimizing risks and optimizing resources at every stage of a project.

Analysis of the benefits of operating drone imagery and 360 panoramas

SkySnap’s new portal functionality allows users to view drone photos and fully interactive 360° panoramas directly on a map. Icons indicating the exact location where the image was taken are now visible both in the traditional 2D view and in an advanced 3D view based on a point cloud. Such a solution revolutionizes field orientation and the visual inspection process, allowing specialists to verify the facts in detail without having to leave the platform. This translates directly into increased work efficiency, reducing the need for site visits and improving communication between the office and the construction site.

Assessing the impact of 3D DXF vector file support

The addition of support for 3D vector files in DXF format is another milestone in the platform’s development. Users can now import complex design models and overlay them with drone raid data. The ability to toggle individual layers on and off, as well as to precisely modify the model’s position – by flattening it or moving it by a set height – significantly streamlines the process of verifying that the design is consistent with actual terrain conditions. The process is further enhanced by a new navigation bar that allows for quick filtering and searching of specific vector elements by their layer and attributes, which is crucial when working with complex designs.
The visualization enhancements introduced are complemented by powerful new tools designed to improve data exchange and cross-team collaboration.

2 Improved interoperability and collaboration within the project team

In complex engineering and construction projects, the seamless exchange of data between different software tools and team members is a prerequisite for timely and error-free execution. Full interoperability of IT systems is the key to avoiding costly mistakes, eliminating bottlenecks and speeding up the project cycle.

Strategic analysis of data export to DXF and CSV formats

The introduction of the ability to export survey data directly to DXF and CSV files is a strategic operational benefit for all portal users. This functionality eliminates the need for manual data conversion, enabling surveyors, designers and contractors to seamlessly integrate precise measurements from the SkySnap portal into their specialized CAD and GIS software. Automating this process significantly reduces work time, minimizes the risk of errors and ensures data consistency across the design ecosystem.

Assessing the impact of sharing a 3D view via a link

An innovative feature for sharing 3D views via a dedicated link dramatically improves remote collaboration and communication. The generated link maintains the exact extent of the map and the position and angle of the camera, ensuring that the recipient opens the exact same view of the spatial data that the sender sees. This simple but highly effective solution facilitates client presentations, project consultations and coordination across distributed teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are discussing based on the same precise visual information.
The new data sharing capabilities go hand in hand with improvements that directly affect the comfort and intuitiveness of daily work with the portal.
3. optimizing workflow and intuitiveness of the interface
The ultimate performance of an advanced analytics platform is determined not only by breakthrough functionality, but also by small, thoughtful improvements to the user interface. They are the ones that minimize unnecessary clicks, reduce cognitive load and make daily workflows smoother, more intuitive and more efficient.

3 Synthesize key User Experience improvements:

  • Maintaining map coverage when switching views: The application automatically maintains the same area of the map when switching between 2D views, 3D views and comparison mode. This eliminates the frustrating need to navigate back to the section of the project of interest and significantly speeds up the process of multi-view data analysis.
  • New project sorting logic: Investments and their assigned projects are now sorted by default from newest to oldest. This simple change guarantees immediate access to the most current data, which is crucial in a dynamic construction environment.
  • Direct layer management: Users have gained the ability to delete vector layers directly from the main application interface. As part of this change, the previous function in a separate management panel has been disabled, consolidating the interface and centralizing data management in one place. This simplifies and speeds up the organization of map data, allowing users to focus on analysis.

Managing a modern building is a constant battle against the passage of time and the destructive influence of nature. Whether you're looking after an office building, an industrial hall or a housing development, the greatest dangers lurk where the eye can't see - in the highest parts of the structure and in hard-to-reach places. The roof, gutters, flashings and facade details are the front line in the clash with rain, frost and UV radiation.
