SkySnap’s biggest project – January to October 2025

The project began in March 2025 and ended with a final acceptance protocol in October. Eight months of intensive work – from flight planning and drone data collection, to photogrammetric processing, to the development of GIS analyses and reports for the contracting authority – required a team of dozens of specialists from many departments.

“This was not only the largest, but also the most complex project we have undertaken. It required not only precision, but also tremendous logistics: coordinating field teams, synchronizing office work, and quality control of data on an ongoing basis.”

Tomasz Kozlowski, Co-Founder & co-CEO SkySnap

The project in numbers

  • Implementation time: 8 months
  • Area of the study area: 44,776.5 ha
  • Length of measured drainage ditches: 8,494.19 km
  • Infrastructure facilities: 22,461 culverts, 2014 with damming, 410 footbridges, 314 levees, 1 weir, 52 bridges, 32 thresholds, 1,045 fish ponds
  • Total number of photos taken: more than 2.5 million
  • Data processing time (processing): >4,000 hours

The behind-the-scenes of implementation – what was it like working on the project?

The team’s daily routine was a mix of maps, drones, weather windows, analysis, testing and adjustments. For several months, the terrain was scanned from the air in dozens of locations simultaneously – from Zamosc to Parczew. The photogrammetric team processed hundreds of gigabytes of data daily, operating on dozens of sets of orthophotos. UAV operators covered distances that could be used for 4576 deliveries of our favorite Express Pizza to the Mokotow office, while GIS analysts tracked every culvert, footbridge and drainage ditch.

“For us it was more than a task – it was a test of endurance, competence and cooperation. Everyone knew we were doing something big. And we proved it.”

– says Aldona Cichocka, GIS Manager of SkySnap

Final: signing of acceptance and summary of the project

The official signing of the final acceptance protocol took place in October. On behalf of Wód Polski, the document was signed by Marcin Troć – Director of RZGW in Lublin, and on the contractor’s side – Tomasz Kozłowski – Co-Founder & co-CEO of SkySnap SkySnap Sp. z o.o..

“The inventory of drainage facilities is the foundation for modern, efficient and safe water management in Poland. It makes it possible to prevent natural disasters, support agriculture and protect the environment.”

summarizes – Marcin Troć, Director of RZGW in Lublin

Ready for nationwide and European projects

SkySnap has proven its ability to implement projects of national scale, combining modern technology with reliable workflows. The company is developing its proprietary SkySnap Portal product, which supports spatial data management in infrastructure investments, and is planning further deployments – including overseas.

Managing a modern building is a constant battle against the passage of time and the destructive influence of nature. Whether you're looking after an office building, an industrial hall or a housing development, the greatest dangers lurk where the eye can't see - in the highest parts of the structure and in hard-to-reach places. The roof, gutters, flashings and facade details are the front line in the clash with rain, frost and UV radiation.

  • Webinar: 23.04 Drones in Real Estate: Roof Inspections

The roof is one of the most expensive parts of a building... especially when problems are noticed too late. Leaks, damage or lingering water often remain invisible without an expensive and risky visual inspection.

What if you could check the condition of the roof quickly, accurately, and without climbing high?

During the webinar, we will show how to use roof inspection drones in practice - not just to take pictures, but to create real-world useful documentation that supports renovation decisions and conversations with contractors.
