From visual assessment to GIS data: vaccine discharge

Until now, vaccine drop decisions were made based on observation of the area from the aircraft cabin. This method was inaccurate and often led to errors – there were cases of airdrops in the vicinity of residential buildings, necessitating service intervention, including sending warnings through the RCB Alert system.

In the new approach, the drop operator uses a mobile app that shows in real time:

  • The current position of the aircraft,
  • planned flight line,
  • Zones where discharge is prohibited.

SkySnap scope of work: fox vaccination campaign

The SkySnap team was responsible for preparing the spatial data necessary for the application. The project included:

  • Analysis of BDOT layers for three provinces,
  • identification of urban areas, bodies of water and highways,
  • Designation of buffer zones,
  • Generalization and optimization of vector data for the mobile environment.

The work resulted in a lightweight and precise dataset, enabling safe, effective and informed vaccine discharges in areas of actual rabies fox presence – while reducing the risk of breaching inhabited areas.

Practical application of GIS in monitoring free-living animals

The project is another example of the use of GIS tools in operational activities at the interface of environmental protection and public health. Vaccination of foxes is crucial in the fight against rabies, one of the most dangerous zoonotic diseases. SkySnap – accuracy you can trust.

About SkySnap

SkySnap is a fast-growing Polish technology company specializing in infrastructure monitoring and inspection using drones and advanced digital technologies, which is important in the context of rabies control . On the one hand, like a service provider, SkySnap helps companies make decisions by providing accurate information from spatial data, and on the other hand, Skysnap builds artificial intelligence-based tools for automated measurement and analysis of critical infrastructure using data from drones or other image sources.

Managing a modern building is a constant battle against the passage of time and the destructive influence of nature. Whether you're looking after an office building, an industrial hall or a housing development, the greatest dangers lurk where the eye can't see - in the highest parts of the structure and in hard-to-reach places. The roof, gutters, flashings and facade details are the front line in the clash with rain, frost and UV radiation.

  • Webinar: 23.04 Drones in Real Estate: Roof Inspections

The roof is one of the most expensive parts of a building... especially when problems are noticed too late. Leaks, damage or lingering water often remain invisible without an expensive and risky visual inspection.

What if you could check the condition of the roof quickly, accurately, and without climbing high?

During the webinar, we will show how to use roof inspection drones in practice - not just to take pictures, but to create real-world useful documentation that supports renovation decisions and conversations with contractors.
